or802.11b/gdevices.IEEE802.11ncanachieveahigherthroughputwhenitdoe

notneedtobecompatiblewithlegacydevices(802.11b/gor802.11a).

TheRTSthresholdindicatesthenumberofoctetsinanMPD
U,belowwhichanRTS/
CTShandshakeisnotperformed.
ChangingtheRTSthresholdcanhelpcontroltrafficflowthroughtheAP,especially
onewithalotofclients.Ifyouspecifyalowthresholdvalue,RTSpacketswillbesent
morefrequently.Thiswillconsumemorebandwidthandreducethethr
oughputof
thepacket.Ontheotherhand,sendingmoreRTSpacketscanhelpthenetwork
recoverfrominterferenceorcollisionswhichmightoccuronabusynetwork,orona
networkexperiencingelectromagneticinterference.
