TheSpanningTreeProtocol(STP)providesatreetopologyforanyarrangementofbridges.STPalsoprovide s

onepathbetweenendstationsonanetwork,eliminatingloops.Spanningtreeversionssupportedinclude

CommonSTP,MultipleSTP,andRapidSTP.

ClassicSTPprovidesasinglepathbetweenendstations,avoidingandeliminatingloops.Fo

rinformationon

MultipleSpanningTreeProtocol(MSTP)supportsmultipleinstancesofSpanningTreetoefficientlychannel

IEEE802.1w,RapidSpanningTree(RSTP),withsligh
